I would notate that the divorce was filed on XX date (recently, right?) and that you are working hard to adjust to your new lifestyle which in turn is forcing you to seek legal aid as your economic situation is poor at this time. Tell them you are happy to proceed with divorce proceedings once you have obtained legal counsel.
