Whys my tv just black when i turn it on?

yeah so i have a TH-42PD25 panasonic plasma tv and now all of a sudden when im watching tv the whole screen just stays black... its not on tv video or nothing its on actual channels.. ive flipped through channels and all that and it stays black with some wavy lines going on.. ive checked the other tvs in my house and they show channels fine.. but this one wont.. then i pressed the "Search open/close" on and it shows channels but it wont show channels on the main screen... whats going on?
